Two 18-Year-Olds Charged After Shots Fired at Pawtucket McDonald’s on Mineral Spring Avenue
Police say gunfire during a parking lot altercation struck a vehicle but caused no injuries.
PAWTUCKET, R.I. — Two Pawtucket men have been charged after police say shots were fired during a disturbance outside a McDonald’s on Mineral Spring Avenue earlier this month.
According to Pawtucket police, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 3:30 p.m. on April 3 at the McDonald’s located in the 200 block of Mineral Spring Avenue.
Investigators determined that a large group had gathered in the parking lot, where an altercation broke out. During the disturbance, a firearm was discharged, striking a parked vehicle. Police said no injuries were reported.
Following an investigation, detectives identified two suspects.
On April 7, Pawtucket police executed court-authorized search warrants at residences on Lincoln Avenue and Columbus Avenue in Pawtucket. Officers were assisted by members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Police arrested Willy Medina, 18, of Pawtucket, and Ednilson Medina, 18, of Pawtucket.
Willy Medina is charged with:
Carrying a pistol without a license
Firing in a compact area
Disorderly conduct
Vandalism
Ednilson Medina is charged with:
Carrying a pistol without a license
Disorderly conduct
Both suspects have been arraigned in Rhode Island District Court.
Police have not released additional details about what led to the altercation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
