Pawtucket Police Investigating Fatal Stabbing on Sherry Street
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (Entering Pawtucket) — Pawtucket police are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Sunday night on Sherry Street.
According to authorities, officers responded to the area on March 8 after receiving reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived on scene, they located a 34-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Emergency personnel responded, but the woman was later pronounced dead.
Police have not yet released the victim’s name as investigators work to notify family members.
Investigators say they have identified a person of interest in connection with the incident. Authorities also located a vehicle believed to be associated with the individual, though police have not announced any arrests.
Officials indicated that the victim and the suspect were known to one another, and the case is currently being investigated as a domestic-related incident.
The scene remained active Sunday night as detectives canvassed the neighborhood, collected evidence, and interviewed potential witnesses.
